Greenville, SC (August 8th, 2023) – The Executive Committee of the Greenville County Republican Party recognized and expressed appreciation to four Greenville County Councilmen on August 7, 2023 at their regular bimonthly business meeting. Appreciation was expressed to the Republican Councilmen for voting against the first tax increase in Greenville County in 20 years.

The Councilmen recognized were Benton Blount (District 19), Steve Shaw (District 20), Stan Tzouvelekas (District 22), and Rick Bradley (District 26). Throughout the 2024 and 2025 budgeting process they fought for greater transparency and accountability of taxpayer dollars and voted against the millage increases. The Councilmen addressed the Executive Committee and spoke of their tireless work and efforts to defeat the millage increase while supporting county employees and first responders. They are committed to keeping taxes under control, being transparent in their budgeting and spending, and working for their constituents who placed them in office. They are committed to following all the tenets of the Republican Platform and seek to personally observe conservative values.

The Executive Committee of the Greenville County Republican Party is proud of their Republican colleagues on the Greenville County Council who followed the South Carolina Republican Platform of conservative fiscal responsibility and responding to the requests of their constituents.
