Boom & Balance: Growing Greenville raises rural stakes

June 14, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The award-winning and ongoing Post and Courier series “Boom & Balance” explores the challenges ahead and the solutions being tested as rapid population growth and development continue to outpace expectations and reshape South Carolina.

Development in downtown Greenville grabs the most attention but the impact is being felt further afield. Across the Upstate, smaller towns and rural areas are grappling with a historic influx of new homes and residents. How are those areas handling growth, and what steps are being taken to create new and dense housing in already developed areas?

The in person event will be held at:
Kroc Center Greenville
424 Westfield Street
Greenville, S.C.
Wednesday, June 14
Doors at 11:30 a.m.
Event from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Scott Park, Glenn Hilliard Director of Land Conservation with Upstate Forever
Taylor Lyles, Chief Executive Officer of the Home Builder Association
