Greenville, SC (December 11, 2024), The Post & Courier Greenville has awarded the Greenville County Republican Party (“GCRP”) Best Activist Group 2024, as voted on by its readers. The GCRP defeated other Upstate conservative groups, such as Young Greenville and the Greenville Patriot Caucus, illustrating the strength of the Greenville County party and its many America First successes.

With its ever-growing volunteer work force, large staff, weekly Coffee & Poli cs get-togethers, and a high-traffic headquarters, the GCRP has seen phenomenal growth in engagement. This has translated to a year of election successes.

Following a large Christmas celebration for hundreds just this week, the group now returns its focus to legislative initiatives, and its ongoing America First candidate recruitment for the 2025 open City Council positions.

Another top priority is the GCRP’s 2025 Reorganization (aka “ReOrg”) process, which occurs in March. During one critical day, precinct elections are held for each of the 151 precincts in Greenville County, giving voters across the Upstate a voice within their county’s Republican party. The GCRP’s county
leadership is then chosen in April, at the GCRP County Convention. The ReOrg process concludes at May’s South Carolina State Republican Convention, with the election of a new State Chair. “We need to get America First leaders elected in all 151 Greenville County precincts,” says Chairman Yvonne Julian, “and get strong supporters elected to represent us at the county and state levels.” The award-winning organization’s headquarters on Wade Hampton Boulevard is open and staffed Monday through Saturday, welcoming a steady stream of local constituents and area visitors. The GCRP also sponsors candidate forums; holds debates; and provides phone banking, door-knocking and other get-out-the-vote events for candidates running at all levels of office. “This year, we trained over 150 poll watchers,” states Julian, “and we mailed thousands of postcards to voters in battleground states prior to the election.”

“We have gained hundreds of new volunteers,” reveals Julian, “. . . people who never thought they would be politically active, stepping forward to offer their help in turning our country around, and with great success,” she says. The GCRP recently saw its efforts flip the county council to a “true
conservative” majority.

“The place you can really make a difference is within your own community,” says Julian. “Everything trickles up in politics. With our local momentum,” she explains, “we can continue to accomplish significant goals in our county, and across the state. It’s a very exciting time to be involved and we want
to thank the Post & Courier readers for recognizing our efforts.”
