Greenville, SC (November 8, 2023) – Greenville, SC – On Tuesday, November 7th, voters across Greenville County went to the polls and voted to support Republican and conservative candidates across the county.
The Greenville County Republican Party is pleased to announce that Mayor Knox White won reelection for his 8th consecutive term. White has announced that this will be his last term as mayor of Greenville. He won with 56.7% of the vote.
Randall Fowler, a newcomer to Greenville politics and candidate for the City Council’s At-Large seat, obviously impressed voters, holding incumbent Dorothy Dowe to 56.6% of votes. Less than a week prior to the election, Fowler made Greenville history, winning the first-ever endorsement from several influential local African – American pastors.
The Greenville County Republican Party dedicated itself to voter outreach in the weeks prior to the election. “Members of the GRCP knocked on over 3,000 doors in the City of Greenville,” says Chair Yvonne Julian. “They also made hundreds of phone calls; planned and attended candidate events; assisted voters . . . all the
elements of our South Carolina Republican Party mission: to promote our platform, and elect candidates who support it.”
The City of Greenville saw 24.45% voter turnout overall, including early voting, according to Conway Belangia, Greenville County’s Voter Registration and Elections Director. Result certifications are scheduled to occur tomorrow, Thursday, November 9, 11am at 301 University Ridge, Suite N-1000, Greenville, SC 29601.
