Greenville, SC (October 5, 2023) – On Monday evening, October 2, the Greenville County Republican Party (GCRP) (See Video HERE) held its bimonthly business meeting with State Senator Richard Cash (R – Anderson) as a featured speaker. Among the topics Senator Cash spoke on included the passing of a medical marijuana bill and the discussion of transgenderism with the possibility of making it unlawful to dispense pharmaceuticals to minors for the purpose of changing gender.

Senator Cash stated a Women’s Sports Bill was passed and the historic reversal of Roe vs Wade presented the opportunity for states to put their own abortion laws on the books.  The Heartbeat Bill was passed and signed by Governor McMaster.

Senator Cash’s last topic was the experimental Covid vaccines.  On September 12 there was a Senate listening session related to this issue.  Pharmaceutical companies are immune from lawsuits about this vaccine.  While Cash believes in Tort reform, there is a place for holding someone responsible for the product they produce.  The listening session was seven hours and a replay of it can be found on the South Carolina state website.

South Carolina Board of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) supports an updated recommendation of administering Covid shots to everyone 6 months and older.  Senator Cash informed us of an opposing viewpoint put out as an advisory by Dr. Joseph Ladapo, Florida Surgeon General.  He suggests everyone be aware of the details of this advisory; https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/20230913-booster-guidance-final.pdf

This advisory put informed consent into place in Florida.  Residents of South Carolina should insist on similar requirements for its citizens. Senator Cash recommends an action point for South Carolinians to ask DHEC to put out an informed consent documents for its citizens.

SCDHEC Contact: 803-898-DHEC (3432). Staff are available to assist you from 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday-Friday, excluding state holidays.
